Can an application for a Concealed Firearms Permit be denied or revoked?
Pursuant to Nevada Revised Statute 202.3657(3) inclusive, an application can be denied or a permit revoked if at any time it is determined that an outstanding warrant for arrest exists. Below are a few other reasons for denial of an application or revocation of a permit:
Judicially declared incompetent or insane
Habitual user of illegal substance of alcohol
Conviction of a violent crime including a misdemeanor in this or any other state within the preceding 3 years
Domestic violence conviction or currently subject to a restraining order, injunction or other order for protection against domestic violence
On parole or probation from a conviction obtained in this state or in any other state in the United States
Withholding of entry of judgment for conviction of a felony or suspension of sentence for the conviction of a felony.
Providing a false statement on any application for a permit or for the renewal of a permit.
Can I carry a firearm on my person in Nevada?
Nevada has an open carry law that permits a person to carry a handgun in plain view, however, there are exceptions. For instance, Clark County requires you to have a registration to open carry, and you must carry your registration with you when you are carrying a gun.
Some cities such as North Las Vegas and Boulder City have "deadly weapon" laws, and you could be cited or arrested if you pass through their jurisdictions with a firearm in your vehicle.
How do I obtain a Concealed Firearms Permit in Nevada?
You must apply to the sheriff of the county in which you reside for a permit. The sheriff of each county upon request must furnish the application. You must be a Nevada state resident, 21 years of age or older, and not prohibited from possessing a firearm pursuant to NRS 202.360.
What about revolvers and CCW Permit?
Also effective Oct 1, a CCW permittee can qualify with a revolver
and thereafter carry ANY revolver (or derringer) - the permit will simply state "Revolvers"; however, one must continue to qualify with each make/model/caliber of semi auto pistols.

Also effective Oct 1, 2007 is legislation that prohibits
counties/cities/towns from enacting ordinances more restrictive than
state law - the legislature reserves for itself the right to
legislate firearms law. This law is retroactive. Hence the
draconian ordinances in North Las Vegas and Boulder City should
become null and void.
