SWAT July 2008 and Guns and Ammo cover the new Ruger LCP
While SWAT is a magazine for the law enforcement community and those who like tactical equipment, in the July 2008 issue they have a good write up on the Ruger New LCP. Pictured on the right is the March issue.
The author in the SWAT magazine compares the new Ruger to the Kel-Tec P-3AT. Some of the differences are qualified as "Refined" on the Ruger. This article is in very good detail and even talks about the range performance. He had "Notches" in the shell casings upon ejecting. I have never been a fan of small calibers and do not own a .380 ACP. After reading this article, I may go out and try some ballistic tests on the .380 and see how they compare to a .9mm.
The Guns and Ammo article on the .380 is also well done, and he found no issues with the ammo. His hands were large, but still was able to get a solid grip on the Lightweight Compact Pistol.
We always feel that it is better to carry a small pistol than not to have anything at all. If you are in the market for a small gun, take a look a the write up in S.W.A.T or in Guns and Ammo, in their July 2008 issues.
